The 10km Fleurieu Community Beach Run on Sunday, 7 July 2019 is the first of its kind for the Fleurieu Peninsula.
This is a great opportunity for walkers, runners, individuals and families to check out the beautiful coastline and enjoy the challenge of beach running/walking. The event course begins at Goolwa Beach on the beach in front of the Surf Life Saving Club and follows the shore line 5kms down to Middleton Beach and turning around to return to Goolwa Beach. Children under 11 years old on race day are to run with a responisble adult within reach at all times. Date and Start Times Sunday 7 July 2019 Starts at 8:30am Entry Fees $25 per person Or register 4 or more in one time to receive 25% off. Course The event course begins at Goolwa Beach on the beach in front of the Surf Life Saving Club and follows the shore line 5kms down to Middleton Beach and turning around to return to Goolwa Beach. The course will be well marked with direction arrows, marshals will be located at various points on the course. Location
Parking
There are many parking options close to the event in Goolwa. Water Station There will be one water station on the course at the way up the centre track which runners will pass once. Bibs, Timing and Timing Chips Number collection is from 6:30am on race day. Bibs will not be posted out. Please arrive as early as possible to allow time for this process as the event will be commencing at 8:30am. We are using disposable tags this year which will be attached to you race bib. The registration process is as follows: Find your name and race number on the list on the board Proceed to the next point to collect your bib Safety, First Aid and Ambulance Cover Since this is a trail event you can expect a number of obstacles such as seaweed, soft sand, uneven surfaces, rocks and steep cliffs so please take care of yourself and those around you. If someone that needs assistance please do the right thing and help, yes it will cost you time but you'll leave with a warm fuzzy feeling. Since the ambulance service in South Australia in not free we also highly recommend that you have private health cover or ambulance cover. Cut Off Times The cut off for timing finishes at 11:30am. Cancellations If you wish to cancel your entry please email the race director at foam.office@gmail.com. Cancellations received prior by 6pm Monday 3d May, 2019 can have their entry fee refunded minus a $10 processing fee. Transferring Entries Transferring your entry to another person is not permitted. Prizes Medals will be awarded to the first 3 male and female finishers for both the short and long courses. Rubbish Please place all rubbish in the bins provided or take it with you. We are very fortunate to have a beautiful island to run around, let's keep it that way. Withdrawing If you wish to withdraw please inform a course marshal or the Race Director Simon Porteous who will be at the start/finish line and can be contact calling 0421 282 236. Accommodation and Things To Do Around Victor Harbor If you are travelling to Goolwa for the run the Victor Harbor Information Centre can help you find accommodation and provide ideas for activities during your stay. You could even come a day earlier and enjoy more of our running paths and coastline for a free 5k warmup at Victor Harbor parkrun, 8 am Saturdays at Kent Reserve. |
